Lyra

1.5 years old, Golden/Husky mix

Fostered in Strathroy, On

Adoption Fee: $700

Microchipped

Vaccinated & Spayed

Good with older kids, other dogs, and cats

Lyra is a top notch snuggler. She loves to cuddle and wants to be near her human all the time. Definitely a velcro dog. She does show some jealousy when the other dog is getting attention. However, she likes the company when left alone as she is not a fan of being left alone for too long!

Crate training has been a work in progress. She's slowly grasping the concept but will need continued training on this to be a complete doggy package!

Her leash skills have improved dramatically. She does tend to pull a bit when she sees another person or dog as she is eager to say hi, but with a quick correction she stops.

She is very treat motivated so further training should be easy. She knows sit, leave it, no, and come. Her recall is very good. She is working on lay down, crate and off in her foster home. She has a tendency to put one paw on you and then the other to come up if she thinks you didn't give her enough attention, that's where the off command is coming into play. She does not jump up at all. Although she would love to be the only dog, I think she would do well with a dog friend for when she's left alone. Either scenario would work for her.

She is used to sleeping on the fosters bed or on dog bed beside. She has even decided to just stay curled up on the couch some nights.

Loves to jump up for a morning snuggle as soon as you wake up.

She is very good at setting boundaries when playing with her foster sister! She LOVES the backyard and can play all day with her foster sister so making sure she gets plenty of playtime and exercise is a must!
