Phifer is a sweet 1-year-old female looking for a patient and loving home where she can continue to build her confidence.

This little lady prefers the comforts of home and has made it quite clear that she's not a fan of cats—or the great outdoors! The world can feel like a big, scary place to Phifer, and new sounds often startle her. Because of this, she'll thrive with a family that understands she needs time, reassurance, and lots of love

Once she feels safe, Phifer's affectionate side shines through. Her favorite place to be is curled up on your lap or snuggled against your leg. She enjoys being held, too—though only for short periods before she's ready to settle back into her cozy spot.

Phifer is learning her routines and appears to know "crate" and "lay down." Her crate is a place where she feels secure, and she even has a favorite toy she loves to play with there. When she's comfortable, her playful personality comes alive, and she'll happily invite you to join in the fun!

She's currently showing interest in kibble when it's softened with water, but wet food is definitely her favorite. Phifer does appear to have some resource guarding tendencies, so her future family should be prepared to continue working with her on this, and it can easily be corrected.

Leash training is a work in progress as the world can be a scary place for such a small girl. Continued progress is recommended to help Phifer conquer her fear!
